Hey Naturals!  This is a real quick post about the ugly weather many of us will be facing soon.  While we will be seeing snow here almost weekly, some of you will just be braving high winds and cold temperatures.  No matter what you shall be facing soon, fall is here and winter will be close behind for most of us.  This make it the perfect time to get our hair ready and that’s why I am talking to your about gettting a Winter Hat and why you need one or more.

Natural hair and winter worries

Getting our hair ready means protecting it and there’s no better way then to keep it covered. There are right ways and wrong ways and one of the best right ways is with natural hair hats that have correct linings to keep our strands protected from the elements and our clothing. Originally, this post was called, Making winter hats Natural hair friendly, but I have updated this post to reflect the vast products available in the hat department. Check out our extensive list for the best of the best in natural hair hats that are perfect for this winter.

Some of the best hats for black women this fall and winter are from black owned companies and I had to showcase them to you! One of the top is Grace Eleyae. She’s got satin lined hats, beanies and baseball caps that actually work at protecting your hair while being and looking stylish.

The focus is on feeling pretty, warm and protecting your hair when it comes to a winter hat and the lining will always be the way to get there. From Amazon to Etsy and several places in-between, you can find some awfully stylish hats, beanies and baseball caps that will protect your hair while keeping your head warm. You get the added bonus of looking cute too!

There are several brands, especially on Etsy to choose from, like BreezyTee which has this adorable Satin Lined Knit Beanie and many others to choose from.

Satin-lined baseball caps

Natural hair hats are super popular now and while you may want the cutest, it's really best to get the ones that properly protect. Check which are best.

I love baseball caps, although I rarely wear them, but they can be out of the running for naturals if you don’t get the right ones. Now, they are satin-lined and a few of them take the natural hair game to the next level like this one above by CurlCap. CurlCap not only has them satin-lined, but they have the back out to allow your natural tresses to be free.

Your big hair don’t care attitude is appreciated and welcomed with this CurlCap that has an adjustable strap and satin sweatband!  There is a velcro strip under the sweatband that allows you to slide the strap to best accommodate your crown.

If you are on the hunt for a traditional baseball cap with a satin lining, then check out the Grace Eleyae GE Women’s Adjustable Satin-Lined Baseball Cap found in 3 colors.  These can be enjoyed all year round but perfect for a casual day this fall and winter.

Satin-lined hoodies

I never thought I would see the day when we would have satin lined hoodies but here they are! Satin lining to protect your hair all winter long and as much as we all love hoodies, this is a real win!

If you are all about colors, then there is no better place to find a beautiful array of bold colors than from Gentlemane Satin Lined Hoodie which has 11 different colors to choose from. Perfect for gifts this holiday season.

Making winter hats Natural hair friendly

Much of this winter has seen me with a knit hat that I LOVE and a few twists peeking out front.  You wouldn’t know it but I’ve got my satin bonnet underneath protecting the rest of my hair! Just a regular ole satin bonnet and for the twists I made sure to add some heavy cream to protect them since they are out front for cuteness.  This winter I am LOVING Curls Whipped Cream – heavy curl cream.  It has been a wonder product second ONLY to glycerin. It has released me from my bondage to gel since gel was the only product that kept my hair from frizzing.

What I love about the satin bonnet   is I can wear whatever hat I feel and just slip a bonnet over my head before I put on a hat.  I can still wash them and wear them at night (I have a ton so there are always a few somewhere in the house).  They are extremely practical and affordable so stock up and keep that hair pretty.

BENEFITS OF A STEAMER FOR MOISTURIZED WINTER HAIR

Now you are set for your winter wear needs that work hard at protecting your hair. From hoodies, to hats to baseball caps, you will stay warm and pretty without harming your hair. This winter, make sure to take your hair to the next level of protection with natural hair hats!

Take care Naturals,
Sabrina

I wear the satin bonnets under my hats as well. It is a must. I cannot stand the cloth rubbing against my strands.
