Reversing Gray Hair With Wheatgrass

Wheatgrass or herbage is the ultimate healthy lifestyle supplement. It is frequently added to health shakes and smoothies at juice bars because of its many cleansing and detoxifying properties.  Although many people are familiar with the benefits of wheatgrass, they often overlook or are unaware of how great herbage is for healthy, strong hair. So, what exactly does wheatgrass do for the hair? Let’s take a look at this amazing plant and the benefits it provides the hair.

WHAT IS WHEATGRASS

Herbage isn’t grass, but rather the young shoots of the ordinary wheat plant. The shoots of the plant are harvested early and the leaves are often dried and then crushed into powder for supplements. Juice is also taken from these young shoots and added to health drinks and shakes.

Herbage is a popular supplement because of its many amazing health benefits. From detoxifying the liver and kidneys to cleansing the blood, wheatgrass has a number of positive effects on bodily functions when consumed regularly. These benefits don’t stop at cleansing and detoxification, wheatgrass is also a proven beauty treatment for hair, skin and nails.

Since Herbage is known for its ability to improve the overall health of an individual, it’s only natural that the plant would provide benefits to the hair and for some women struggling with grays, it would seem like the perfect remedy to reversing one’s hair years.  The following are just a few of the ways that wheatgrass has been shown to benefit the hair.

DECREASE GRAYING HAIR

Wheatgrass has the unbelievable ability to turn gray hair back to its natural color. It has huge amounts of Catalase and other beneficial antioxidants which helps to slow the aging process through rejuvenating the cells. Consuming wheatgrass daily will not only give you an amazing energy boost, it can actually turn your gray hair back to its original color.

That anti-aging goes further than just reversing grays. Regularly applying herbage juice to the scalp and hair can help to repair hair loss from styling damage or scalp conditions. Herbage also strengthens cells and increases red blood cell levels, which work to help the body naturally repair damaged hair. Herbage juice is also a natural cleanser and disinfectant and when applied directly to the head, immediately soothes dry, itchy scalps.

“Drink one glass of wheat grass juice daily. The average dosage is 1 to 2 fluid ounces of fresh-squeezed juice once a day (or 3 to 4 times a day for detoxification); or 1 tablespoon wheatgrass powder (1 to 3 times a day); or 7 to 10 wheatgrass tablets (500 mg) a day.” Naturallycurly

FOR SMOOTHIE LOVERS

Simply add  powder to your smoothies or if you want you can make a wheatgrass hair conditioner.

Take fresh herbage and cut the green leaves into tiny pieces and place in a juicer. Wash hair as usual and apply the wheatgrass on your scalp. Leave in for 5 minutes before rinsing thoroughly and style as usual.

Have you tried herbage in your hair recipes?
