There is a real need for Naturals to have a hair spray bottle with a mixture of oils, water and conditioners. It’s a quick pick me up for the hair whether you use it only at night before bed, first thing in the morning or even if you need it a few times a day.

I actually needed to use it pretty often throughout the day when I first became Natural and don’t need it so much anymore but still use it in the day for 2nd, 3rd or even 4th day hair. I am also noticing that with each changing season I must alter my mixture to accommodate for the weather changes as well as my my living arrangements. We live in Denver, CO and use a lot of heat so that means a lot of dryness in my house and out.
Why do you need a hair spray bottle when natural
The obvious reason is our hair needs to maintain moisture to stay healthy and look great. Also, it allows you to shape, moisturize and stretch your curls and coils without soaking your entire head. Spritzing your hair is not just for a wash and go lovelies. Twists, Afros, puffs and many other styles benefit by a few pumps of your favorite concoction. And as always, trial and error will dictate just what you want in your hair mister.
Always remember that water should be the primary component of your mixture and a few drops of an oil and/or highly water-based conditioner are meant to compliment. Too much of either the oil and/ or conditioner will not only clog your mister or spray bottle, but will be too heavy on the hair to refresh the style. If opting for heavier concoctions, buy otc products like hair lotions, or serums to give your hair what it needs.
Here is what is in my spray bottle this Summer:
Distilled Water
Oyin Handmade Hair Dew ( not in the hair spray bottle)
Were you looking for more? Sorry! I do spritz my hair and THEN add some Oyin Handmade Hair Dew into my hands and then rub in my hair from the roots to tips to the moistened hair. I have been real low key this past summer with this mixture above that I double as a spritzer for my hair. I will, however end up with two spray bottle this fall with the mixture above and this one below:
Here is what will be in my spray bottle this upcoming Fall:
Distilled Water
Lavender oil
Knot Today Conditioner
Jojoba Oil
Now for fall, I increase a few things but make sure you understand that I still make water the main component. I do add the Kinky Curly Knot Today to the bottle because it is not too thick and I only add a couple of drops. I always add a few drops of Jojoba Oil, because it is my favorite carrier oil after coconut and a lighter one that my hair responds to very well.
NATURAL TREATMENTS TO STIMULATE HAIR REGROWTH
So I am steady listening to my hair and using what works but expect my fall concoction to be somewhat different from my Winter. OK Naturals, what was in your spray bottle for Summer and what will you be using in Fall?
Stay moisturized Naturals,
