Of course, I am not suggesting you add your favorite bottle of Breckenridge bourbon and regret it the night it gets over. But we all have that one bottle which was mostly a bad purchase, that we can never get ourselves to finish and is just shelved. So why not put it to good use by adding it to your skin regime.  Here are 7 ways by which you can add whiskey to your everyday face mask which will result in glowing skin.

Whisk some whiskey and honey

Honey has natural moisturizing properties and is also an antibacterial ingredient that is often used on the skin especially prone to acne.

Add a few drops of honey and a small teaspoon and whiskey and mix it well. Apply this mask and massage gently for 10 -15 minutes and wash it with lukewarm water. This will help tighten your skin apart from moisturizing it well.

Whiskey and lemon

Lemon, although is highly acidic, is commonly included in small quantities in skin care routines because of the amazing skin lightening properties this has. It helps to remove tan or scars and even uneven patches and lighten skin skilfully. A mixture of ½ teaspoon whiskey and 2 spoons of lemon juice will make a great mask for your skin. It will help remove dullness and darkness in the skin and bleach away scars while leaving it to look beautiful. Do not forget to moisturize every time you use this mask.

Points to remember while trying whiskey masks

  • Not every skin type reacts the same with whiskey. So try it on a small patch of your skin elsewhere before you choose to apply it on your face. The best face mask for sensitive skin is simple whiskey and water.
  • Always add whiskey in small quantities such as a teaspoon or 2 maximum. Including too much will cause harm and might damage your skin.
  • Never apply whiskey directly. Always mix it with any other ingredient, at least water before using it on your skin.
  • Do not forget to moisturize well following this session as certain combinations involved tend to make skin dry given it has alcohol.
