Knowing your body shape or body type allows you to work up your assets and work down your not so great areas. Look we are ALL beautiful, but when you are wearing something that hits you in all the right places, you feel better and look amazing. Now we are here to discuss the pear body shape. I fall into this shape category and while I hate not be proportioned, I do love my shape when clothes hit me the right way!
Have An Apple Body Shape? Here Is How To Work It!
A pear body shape is not too far off from the hourglass. The pear shaped women has a smaller bust with narrower shoulders. She will have a flat stomach with bigger thighs, legs, or/and rear and yes that waist is well-defined. Some pears try to concentrate on camouflaging their rear but accentuating your smaller top half is just as important (if not more important) to give your body some balance.
The focus for dressing a pear body shape is to enhance and add volume (or the illusion of volume) to your upper body while emphasizing your waist and de-emphasizing your lower body. This creates a balanced, hourglass appearance. With the right clothing, it works well and have faked having an hourglass body shape for years!
What Flatters The Pear Body Shape?
The key is to de-emphasize the lower half while drawing attention to the upper half. One way is through color. Wearing lighter or brighter colors on top and darker ones on the bottom will create some balance. For tops remember to draw attention to your top half so plunging scoop neck, V-necks and the like are great along with spaghetti straps and strappy tops. Show off those lovely arms and shoulders. on’t forget to wear the right bra and even a padded bra if you feel the boost in cup sizes will help with the volume up top. I am the v-neck queen when it comes to tops and dresses and they always balance out my pear body shape.
Finding Your Body Type & Enhance Your Sexiness!
For dresses and skirts an A-line is great for the pear body shape. Dresses that are narrower at the top and slightly flare at the bottom that skim rather than cling to your curves is also very flattering. Adding volume to your top is key so wrap dresses with cap or fuller sleeves are exactly what you are looking for. Avoid shorts, skirts, dresses, and pants that are too clingy and tight since they will only exaggerate the broadness of your hips.
Dark jeans or pants are the go-to items as they go along with the darker on the bottom rule. Wear them with a flare on the bottom as the flared leg draws attention away from your hips. Jackets are great for pear shapes but make sure they have a defined waist to show off your small tummy. With a few tweaks to your wardrobe a pear body shape can look like a million bucks and have all the attention to all the right places.
