2 Remedies for Dandruff Using Sea Salt

2 Remedies for Dandruff Using Sea Salt

Why use sea salt to combat dandruff

Using a natural remedy for your dandruff is a lot better than resorting to chemically-made shampoos and conditioners that offer to do the same.  You can get equally great results, if not better, using natural ingredients like sea salt. This may be surprising to some who aren’t familiar with the skin benefits of sea salt. Not only does it work for dandruff relief, but it is a permanent solution as well.

Here are the known benefits:
  • Rubbing sea salt in your hair helps to get rid of dead skin flakes, thus clarifying your scalp.
  • It absorbs excess oil from your scalp, which also helps with prevention of dandruff.
  • It prevents formation of fungus, which likes to grow on wet and oily scalps. Salt removes extra moisture, so that fungi can’t grow.

There are two methods that you can use for your sea salt hair treatments:

Method one:
Using a table salt shaker, shake the salt directly into your scalp.
Wet your fingers and massage your scalp for 10-15 minutes.
Wash your hair with a natural herbal shampoo.
Dry your hair with a clean towel.

Method two:
Pour water into a pan and allow it to warm up. Then add 3 Tbsp to it.
Stir the salt into the water until it dissolves.
Allow the warm water to cool off to room temperature.
Rinse your hair with the water and massage your scalp well for 5-8 minutes.
Both are very simple methods. Choose whichever one works best for you.
