Favorite Natural Hair Products in 2014

I love this time of year!  A new year always brings new possibilities and new companies who start out the gate ready to impress and be loved.  sappy I know, but by the end of the year you know what worked, what didn’t work and what was your ultimate fave!

I am a terrible creature of habit and often have to force myself to try new things.  As a blogger I know it is important to share my findings and give you a chance to see what works (or doesn’t work) before you pluck down your hard-earned dollars on it.

Here are my most favor-est natural hair products that rocked my world AND my hair!

Favorite Shampoo
Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo

Favorite Natural Hair Products in 2014

I am not a shampoo kind of natural but when it is needed…it is needed!  I had the opportunity to finally get into a Trader Joe’s because they decided to come to Colorado and I didn’t skip a beat to get my hands on their Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo!

I was immediately impressed because it didn’t strip my hair of its natural oil nor did it make my hair tangle.  I use it mostly for clarifying but it is now a staple in my shower.  Oh, I love the smell as well but I’m a big fan of Tea tree oil!

Favorite Protein Conditioner
Aubrey Organics GPB Glycogen Protein Balancing Shampoo

I slack on my protein treatments quite often and it was almost the end of 2014 when I realized I hadn’t done one in months!  I started looking to try different one but never liked the ingredients so I recalled my old faithful and remember why it was my favorite in the first place.

I fell back in love with GPB and it’s amazing ingredients and what it can do for my tresses!  I am happy to say I am back on my monthly routine!

Favorite Cheapy Conditioners
Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Conditioner

TRESemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner

I hate to admit it, but I use silicones and I sometimes love them!  Yes, I have succumb to the detangling ease of silicones one occasion and yes it was long overdue.  It was overdue for getting a cheapy conditioner and ended up with two!

Organix is super cheap and made my hair sing while TRESemme really made my hair look and feel better.  It even shined!  Now, I learned that I had to use them for a few days in a row and not more than that or I would get build-up but for the occasional use they were gold!

Favorite Natural Oil
NOW Foods NOW Solutions Jojoba Oil 100% Pure

Favorite Natural Hair Products in 2014

I was the queen of coconut oil and you could not get me to try anything else.  I was stuck like Chuck but three things happened.  I slathered some rancid coconut oil on my hair by mistake and about died, I tried the Oil Cleansing Method again and needed some Jojoba oil, and a good friend told me I could get Jojoba oil cheaper on Amazon.com.  Much, much cheaper too!

Favorite Conditinoer + Deep Conditioner Combo
SheaMoisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Hydration Conditioner and Hair Masque

I am already a big fan of SheaMoisture as a brand but when they came out with this line of Manuka Honey & Mafura oil I was ecstatic!  The smell, OMG, the smell alone is reason enough to use it but it really softened and conditioned my hair.  This line took the place of my regular conditiner and deep conditioner.  The only problem is they can only be found at Target so I never get to BOGO them like I can at Walgreen’s but I’ll make the sacrifice because they are awesome!

Favorite Hair Accessory
PuffCuff Hair Clamp

Favorite Natural Hair Products in 2014

I was asked to do a review of this new item that would revolutionize natural hair’s puff. Well, the PuffCuff truly did not disappoint and I was impressed with it’s lack of snagging and how well it could create a puff.   It is reasonably priced and easy to use and a must on a bad hair day.  You can check out my review here: Product Review – PUFFCUFF HAIR CLAMP

Favorite Elixir / Serum
Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum

Favorite Natural Hair Products in 2014

When I tried the Conditioner from Organix I decided to give Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum a try.  Well, my sister was raving about it so I buckled and tried it.  OMG, what a gem!  I loved it and it made my hair softer and shinier.  Not something I would used everyday but definitely a winner.

Favorite Cowash Cleanser
NYC Curls The Curl Cleanser

Favorite Natural Hair Products in 2014

I am all about the cowashing my tresses and a big lover of As I Am Coconut CoWash and nothing has been able to make me consider changing or at least having a back up.  Well, when I was asked to review the NYC Curls Line I was intrigued and ready to give a new line a try.  I liked the conditioner and gel but I fell in LOVE with the Curl Cleanser.  It worked great and made me feel it was cleansing without stripping my tresses.

Favorite Steamer
Q-Redew Hand-held Hair Steamer

Favorite Natural Hair Products in 2014

When I first went natural I was dying for a hair steamer.  As time when on I decided against it or felt it wasn’t necessary so when I was asked to review the Q-Redew, I wasn’t all that eager to give it a try.  I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked on my tresses and gave me 2nd and even 3rd day hair and that’s hard for this hard-core wash and go.

So, that would sum up my favorites of 2014 and would love to know yours!

Take care Naturals,
Sabrina
