Pinterest to Martha Stewart everybody is getting on the Do It Yourself or DIY Body Scrub bandwagon and I gotta say it is a great idea. For one thing, the prices for some of these scrubs are outrageous!! I mean these scrubs found in stores are in small jars with big price tags and the primary reason I don’t buy them too often. This just makes for a big push for a diy body scrub that can be created easily and at a much cheaper price.
DIY Foot Soak & Scrubs For Summer-Ready Feet!
I already do a few DIY products like Laundry detergent and hair deep conditioners so I am all over this. Body scrubs are great for exfoliating the skin by removing the dead skin cells and allowing the new skin to surface. They make your skin feel so soft afterwards and with a pleasant smell you feel like a new person. They are really easy to make and most (if not all) have some of the ingredients:
Sugar
Salt
Oil(s)
There are numerous variations in all and some add more ingredients for fragrance or therapeutic reasons but if your scrub doesn’t have one of those main ingredients above then you may need to try another.
Coffee DIY Body Scrub
I’m all over the coffee body scrubs and will share one I found on Pinterest:
Ingredients:
*Equal parts ground coffee and raw sugar
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp sea salt
Mix the ground coffee with raw sugar and sea salt. Add the olive oil and coconut oil. And voila, coffee body scrub.
Vanilla Sugar DIY Body Scrub
Here’s a simple vanilla sugar scrub:
Ingredients:
*2 1/2 cups sugar in the raw
3/4 cup white granulated sugar
4-5 tbsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup almond oil
In a bowl, mix together the sugar in the raw and the white granulated sugar. Add in the vanilla extract and almond oil and mix well.
Green Tea and Rose Sugar Scrub
Ingredients:
1/2 cup coconut oil
Green tea bags
Mixing bowl
Glass jar
Craft stick
Rose essential oil (optional)
Combine sugar, two to three green tea bags, and dried rose petals in a bowl. Add coconut oil to the sugar mixture, and mix with a craft stick until it has a clumpy consistency. Pour the mixture into a glass jar and seal it with a lid to ensure it stays fresh.
HAIR TEA FOR GROWTH, SHEDDING & SCALP AILMENTS | YOU NEED TO BE DOING THIS!
I’ve only shared three but believe me there are so many more out there and Pinterest, your DIY blogger or google can find you exactly what you want. I’ll be trying that coffee scrub before the Summer is out (hopefully) and when I do I’ll share my results!
Keep that skin exfoliated and soft Naturals,
Sabrina
I'll have to try the recipes you've shared. When I did mine (just by adding the basic ingredients it came out watery lol).
I'll need to try them as well so I can do an update on them. I cannot wait to try the coffee one! Hope this works for you love.
