Product Review – AS I AM Coconut CoWash Cleansing Conditioner

AS I AM Coconut CoWash Cleansing Conditioner

I must admit…this review is WELL overdue.  I love As I Am Coconut CoWash and what it does for my hair so I apologize for not sharing this review earlier. I heard a local vlogger/blogger, MahoganyCurls talk about this product when she was doing the Curly Girl Method it and decided to try.  I was embarking on the Curly Girl Method and was too happy to ditch using shampoo but knew I would need something in its place.

PRODUCT REVIEW – NYC CURLS BY CARLOS FLORES

Gently cleanses hair and scalp
Removes product residue
Preserve moisture

As I Am Coconut CoWash is the way to cleanse your hair most of the time. This light no-suds conditioning cream gently spreads easily throughout your hair and removes residue including all of the things you’ve used to style and maintain your coils and curls.

Coconut Cowash is different from any other because it contains a special blend of natural ingredients that work to promote healthy hair growth from the follicular level. Maintains moisture, adds more moisture and helps hair retain moisture until your next cleanse.

Makes detangling a breeze and rinses easily from hair. Gentle enough for daily use and is safe for color-treated hair.

 Sally Beauty Supply

This was supposed to replace my shampoo so I was eager to try it and see if it left my hair in tangles like ALL shampoos did.  I had been doing pre-poos, post-poos, and even thought about watering the shampoo down before I realized I just needed to eliminate it from my routine.  I still needed to cleanse my hair just not strip it to death!

PRODUCT REVIEW – ECOSTYLER OLIVE OIL STYLING GEL

I loved the smell of it as well as the consistency (that took time and I will explain below) and had no issue with the lack of lather.  I’ve gotten past the “need to see suds” phase so the lack of it was not an issue.  It’s in a jar (a downside) but It was 16oz for around $8 so that was a serious plus.

The first five ingredients in AS I AM Coconut CoWash Cleansing Conditioner:

Aqueous (Water, Aqua Purificada, Purified) Extracts:

Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) and Citrus Reticulata (Tangerine)
Cetyl Alcohol (fatty alcohol known to condtion our hair)
Cetrimonium Chloride (detangler and not bad for hair)
Cetearyl Alcohol (fatty alcohol known to condition our hair)

*         Poor rating.  Will not be buying again ever!!
**       Mediocre.  Will not be buying again.
***     Average.  May or may not buy again.
****   Above average.  Will probably buy again.
***** Excellent!  Will buy again and may become a staple product.

AS I AM Coconut CoWash  *****

I LOVE this product!  Now, let’s be truthful…when I first started using it I was unhappy with the consistency.  It seemed too watery.  I could not work with it well but then I read a review where someone said some shower water got in her bottle and all of a sudden it clicked….that happened to me too!  That’s one of the reasons I held off doing a review because I wanted to see if it was watering with a new bottle.  Well, the second bottle was much thicker and when I use it I place the bottle far from the shower stream now that I realized the problem.

It smells good, it works good and it cleans my scalp without leaving my hair in tangles.  I massage it into my sectioned hair with my fingertips and  my hair feels cleaner, it looks cleaner and it IS cleaner after I'm done.  It is a staple product of mine and I cannot see me giving it up anytime soon.  Go out and give it a try Naturals!

Take care Naturals,

Sabrina
