NC – Honey Hair Lightening: Fact or Fiction?

(Origin)

Been there…done that!  Yea, I know over the past summer you probably remember me practically losing my mind over trying to lighten my hair naturally. (Lighten up!!  and  Seriously (disappointing) Sunday)  I was determined to do this coloring NATURALLY.  I don’t do heat. I don’t do chemicals of any kind.  I wanted color but I didn’t want to compromise my beliefs on not using chemicals.  Well, I’ve come across another hair lightening recipe and it’s tons simplier to do as well less ingredients. Nothing happened and I tried it twice.  Did I give up to quickly?  Not sure but after that I really lost interest.

 Honey Hair Lightening Method

  1. Mix honey and distilled water together. Use a 4 to 1 ratio of honey to water to make the mixture work properly.
  2. Apply the mixture to your hair and scalp and let sit under a shower cap for one hour under no additional heat.
  3. Completely rinse the mixture out of your hair and shampoo, condition and style as usual.

The overall outcome of this process will have your hair looking and
feeling silky, shiny, and healthy. It will also have your hair looking a
little bit lighter in a natural, non-dramatic manner.

This method takes time, and if you are using the honey for only
lightening purposes, you may have to leave the treatment on longer, or
do it multiple times to get your desired outcome.

I got this off of Naturallycurly.com, a very resourceful site for Naturals, and feel that I may even try it.  For thing…I’ve got all the ingredients and for another thing..why not?  They do say to do it multiple times and keep on longer so I will give it a full once a week try for about four or five weeks to see if it works.  Maybe during the first of they year but  there’s no real hurry.  There’s also a honey conditioner recipe with this post so click on the link below to check it out.
