I am not trying to be funny. I really wanna know. Is what she said important enough to some to boycott her show? I’m only asking because I found her ignorant and fake loooong before she made that comment about Viola Davis’ hair not being formal. (or something like that. Can’t say for sure because I don’t watch her show so I didn’t hear the actual comment) I refuse to watch any clips in regards to it because she irks me. Her voice, her look, her….everything.
I don’t like the woman. I don’t like gossip. I don’t like nosy people and I don’t care what others are doing. I like news, politics, the plight of Black folks and crime shows. She just doesn’t fit into my entertainment likes so she’s not included. So, when I heard about this controversy I was kinda stumped. Didn’t everybody already know she’s messy and a loudmouth? I thought that’s why people WATCHED her. I dunno know…
Well, I also heard she knows the Naturals are after her. I’m sure this will get even bigger but I wanted to discuss it because I know there has to be others like me who don’t care what she does or says because she’s unimportant. She’s entitled to her opinion and I’m assuming she knows that so why do we care especially since she’s known for this type of talk. Did she really cross a line?
Viola Davis looked stunning to me and she was all the buzz on twitter Oscar Sunday. She was even trending which I think is a big deal. I only heard wonderful praises for her hair and her gown and her youthful look. To me, that’s all that should matter. Not what one loudmouth has to say. Let’s not allow one bad comment ruin all the good ones. Wendy ain’t worth it!
So, I guess I wondering if others feel she should apologize. I don’t care if she does or doesn’t because she’s entitled to her opinion. If Wendy was looking for controversy she sure got it. Now…are we going to make her even bigger by continuing down this road Naturals or are we going to keep keepin on with ourselves? I’m doing the latter.

I agree, it doesn't matter to me one way or the other what she said. I hadn't heard the clip or even about this until I saw it in the blogging FB group. People are entitled to their opinions and this is what she does for a living. Who cares!
BTW I think Viola's hair looks great. I used to be into slapping relaxers into my childrens hair to make it manageable but for the last 3 years they have all been natural and I noticed that their hair is not only growing but retaining the length. Before it was a cycle of growing and breakage and not achieving the length that their hair is capable of growing to. I have a different hair type from my children and have had to learn how to take care of their hair type. It can be done.
Everyone will not fit into the ideal beauty slot and even that is in the eye of the beholder. Whether they boycott her or not, their are people who will watch anyway because they love what she does.

I could care less about her. It is so not worth the boycott. let the women pay her bills and do her job. who cares! talk about boycott there is many other issues that needs tending too. she is entitled to freedom of speech.
Wendy Williams is so irrelevant that it’s sad, she uses controversy to get her ratings up. She used Whitney before and after her death and now, she is going there with the naturals because she knows natural hair is becoming way more relevant than it was some years ago.
Some people like her loud, ignorant personality and as you stated, that’s why some people watch her. Personally, I'm not a fan and never have been. She always rubbed me as a trouble maker. As far as the comment she made in reference to Viola Davis (who looked absolutely STUNNING might I say), Wendy is entitled to her opinion just as we are entitled to our opinions about her lace front and tacky wardrobe. I'm just saying… 🙂
While I was annoyed by what she said, boycotting isn't that deep on this. Some of her guests are the only reason I tune it, not because I believe Wendy is anything of substance. However I find it interesting she won't post the clip because she knows people are waiting to roast her further on it since a white style reviewer gave Viola's hair style of the night.
I see I am far from being myself on this topic. This is getting out of hand and there's no need for it. A talk show gossip host made a comment about natural hair at the Oscars and here we are….got some Naturals all in a uproar reading to boycott her show. To each HER own, but since I wasn't a viewer in the first place I really don't care what she says, thinks, or does.
I agree, she was a mess before any of this. However, people are just as entitiled to action as they are to their opinion. Personally, my boycotting is easy . . . I never watched her anyway. But if there are some sisters out there that wants to do something formal then I say go for it. What they feel is valid too. Yes, this will give her more publicity as some say, but she may yet learn a lesson about responsible talk because of it.

Wendy is an Ass and tries to keep up with the A listers. She is a 6 foot Drag Queen in my opinion with those Huge fake boobs, Big Hair and Face, Calves and feet. She could learn a few things from Rupaul Drag Race! Wearing your own hair is always nice and It was formal enough and simple. Did not take away from her beautiful gown or jewelry. She was stunning! Didn't hear the comment but could care less. There are so many others who are complimenting Viola for her look on Oscar night and that's what really counts.

I've never been a Wendy Williams fan… She's always got on my nerves, and I don't watch her show… SO, when I heard about the controversy online… I didn't expect anything different from a lace front wearing chick that talks about EVERY black celebrity with a tinge of negativity for ratings… Eh… I know Viola looked great, and that's what matters for me.
