Product Review – Ouidad Moisture Lock Leave-In Conditioner

Ouidad

It’s been a while since I’ve done a product review and I truly apologize for the neglect.  I’ve used quite a few new products and wanted to share my personal findings.

During the Meet-up earlier in the year I contacted quite a few companies for give aways and Ouidad was one of them.  They weren’t able to send products for the give away but they did send the product above (Moisture Lock Leave-In Conditioner) as well as a detangling comb.  I will review the comb in an upcoming product review.

“Moisture Lock

Leave-In Conditioner

A lightweight moisture treatment for curly hair inspired by skincare science. It creates a “moisture foundation” by infusing individual strands with conditioners vital to healthy hair and great looking curls!”  http://www.ouidad.com/Moisture-Lock

The directions state it can be used in and out of the shower.  I chose to use it in the shower since that’s where I typically apply my hair products.  However, with it being a leave-in conditioner I was a little lost since I haven’t used a leave-in in years!  I lightly rinse KCKT out of my hair at the end of the shower and I’m done but I wanted to give this a try and left it in.

I must also mention they have different types of products for your individual hair texture.  I was asked on the phone what type of hair I had and I really didn’t know how to answer.  When asked he did explain the four types of hair their products work on.

Wavy
Curly
Tight Curly
Kinky.

I figured I was somewhere between Tight Curly and Kinky but wasn’t absolutely sure.  Anyway, I was sent the product above.  I have to say I really didn’t see sparks fly or anything.  I wasn’t all that impressed although I can’t say I hated it.  I just didn’t see all the hype.  I have to add that I hadn’t used a leave-in so I may just not have been the right person to try this.  I did give it a couple of tries but have pretty much stopped using it all together.

*         Poor rating.  Will not be buying again ever!!
**       Mediocre.  Will not be buying again.
***     Average.  May or may not buy again.
****   Above average.  Will probably buy again.
***** Excellent!  Will buy again and may become a staple product.

I can’t say it was bad but I can’t say it was good for ME.  I just wasn’t all that impressed but I must say it didn’t mess up my hair so it received and deserved an Average rating from me.  I am being careful with this review because I’ve heard some real great things about this product and I didn’t hate it.  I also might try some other products that may work better with my hair routine.  It’s a little pricier than what I normally buy, but if I like something the price really won’t matter too much to me.  Now understand I’m not a struggling college student so I can be that way.

I say give this a try and it might work for you if you are looking for a leave-in conditioner.  It can be found online as well as certain Salons and Sephora stores.
