Emu oil is is obtained from the fat of the Emu bird (found in Australia) collected mainly from the back and the rump. The benefits of Emu oil are amazingly extensive from cell growth to anti-inflammatory properties. (why am I just now hearing about this?)
I know, I know…here’s another WONDER PRODUCT that someone is trying to make a buck off of. Well, I’ve done some research and it appears to actually be a wonder product. As far as making some serious cash on, I didn’t seem to see that many people trying to market it as much as trying to show how great it is for our bodies.
Naturallycurly.com has sparked my interest with the article below. Of course whenever I come across some great new product I want to try I mention it to my 16 year old Natural daughter. When I told her where this magic oil came from she scrunched up her face and gave her famous, “Eeewww!” Nonetheless, I want to try it.
“Clinical studies conducted in the United States and other parts of the world show that emu oil works with the anagen phase of hair growth. This is the only phase in which the hair follicle and the hair are actually considered “living,” and thus can be affected by any type of product.
It is thought that emu oil benefits cell growth and provide skin stimulation around new hair follicles as they start and continue the development process. All of these together help hair to grow faster; in addition, the hair grown is said to be healthier.” Naturallycurly.com
The Anagen phase of hair growth is the growing stage of hair growth. I’m thinking I’m gonna pass on those hair, skin and nail supplements and give this a try. I take enough meds as it is so replacing pills will applying oils to my hair is a big plus.
It can (of course) be found online as well as some health food stores. I’ll be checking to see if Whole Foods carries it and I would love to know if any of you Naturals have special places where you may get yours. I’d also love to know if you’ve tried this miracle oil? We are all in this growing healthy happy hair together, so we gotta share our tips and hot spots with one another, don’t we?
