I love my natural hair and I maintain healthy hair and moisturized so it thrives. I’ve been natural over eleven years and all of those years have been in Denver, Colorado where we can have harsh winters, blistering summers and dryness year round. My beauty routine must be stellar so I keep wrinkles at bay but I also incorporate my hair into that routine so both my skin and hair stays moisturized and healthy.
Since I am not a fan of protective styles, I opt for other ways to protect my hair. I rock my loose curls and coils with stylish accessories that work double duty by beauty attractive and protective. Check out my day to day ways in keeping my hair moisturized and healthy.
I wake up every morning with a few tools right on my nightstand to keep me and my hair hydrated. My stainless steel water bottle full of cold water for me to grab first thing in the morning and throughout the night. I also have my Slap (Satin-Lined Cap) by Grace Eleyae right near my glasses so I can put it on right before I get into bed. Never have to search for it if I keep it close!
Once I get my son out the door for school, It’s my time until I begin writing for the blog. I eat breakfast and head out the door for the ten minute drive to Red Rocks to walk and get in my exercise. No, I’m not gifted enough to run the one of the two staircases at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre which sits 6,000 feet above sea level so I just walk the trails and take in the glorious scenery.
On cooler days I wear my slap as I walk and never have to worry about having hat hair because it won’t smash my curls, cause frizz or ruin my definition. I get to keep healthy hair! On other days when walking at Red Rocks is not in the cards I may rock the Slap as I run errands or simply hit the streets.
One of my favorite looks is to tuck all my hair underneath and allow a few strands to peek out as a side bang. Love how easily my hair fits under the cap with the satin-lining protecting my hair from dryness and frizz. Even when I dampen my hair with a spray bottle of distilled water with some leave-in conditioner to remoisturize my hair in the morning, I can slip on my Slap and keep my hair super hydrated while I run around in hot or cold weather. We even had snow just last week!
On most days during the colder months, I simply wear it as my hat while looking stylish without sacrificing the health of my hair. With the comfortable elastic band on the cap, it’s never tight nor loose and fits snuggly with no need for yanking throughout the day. I make sure nothing I put on my hair will make it frizz, dry out or tangle and my Slap fall securely into that category.
Whether I am running errands or playing like a kid in the snow, I make sure to fully protect my skin and keep healthy hair with hydrating moisturizers, anti-aging serums and my Slap (Satin-Lined Cap) by Grace Eleyae. I even wear it at night or on flights while I sleep to keep hair moisturized and protected. It’s an all day protection stylish cap worth having in your haircare arsenal.
