Beauty Products for women’s skin care is a billion dollar industry. With our love of makeup, skincare and all types of beauty brands, we are often overwhelmed with what to buy and use. I love discovering new products in beauty from makeup to face moisturizers in hopes of helping my hyperpigmentation. In some ways, most women suffer from something and always on the hunt for new products to help.
There are some skin care products that just stand out for their assistance in anti-aging, skin discolorations, dryness and moisturizing. That’s what I am sharing with you today. Everything on this list has been personally used by me and I know how well they work at giving you want and need.
Color Me Automatic Foundation Applicator is a revolutionary way to not only apply foundation smoothly bu t to save money while doing it! With 250 sonic taps per second, Color Me allows women to tap on their foundation and powder just like the professionals do. The result: smooth, award-winning coverage that lasts all day.
Missy Lynn share s video demo and her thoughts on this amazing foundation applicator. She overall likes it and I have to say I truly agree with her. I’ve been using this makeup tool for a couple of months and truly shocked at how well it smooths, covers and uses minimal liquid foundation.
What I liked about this: Excellent coverage, easy to use, allows me to use much less foundation (hence save money!) and does not have a lot of working parts so easy to carry and keep up with.
What I didn’t like about it: The brushes began to rip apart after only a few uses! I think they are addressing the problem and have some new brushes to try out. I’ll let you know how the new ones go and yes, you can get replacement brushes easily.
I was lucky enough to try the Murad MattEffect Blotting Perfector which was #GiftedBySephora. What does it do? Well, it is a translucent, liquid-blotting formula in an on-the-go cushion compact that instantly mattifies skin, absorbs oil, visibly minimizes pores, and perfects. Ever get shiny throughout the day with or even without makeup? I do, so this little wonder uses the powers of Marshmallow powder, Pomegranate Extract and French Green Clay Extract to absorb excess oils, give a healthy glow along with detoxifying the skin. This takes skin care to the next level!
This actually works better than any blotting sheets I’ve ever used because it actually helps to keep skin from getting greasy and shiny. This is a must-have as we roll into spring, summer and humidity.
What I liked about this: Everything! It works. It’s small enough to fit in my makeup bag in my purse (it’s the size of a compact), and it does not make me break out. Let me reiterate…I ALWAYS shine no matter what brand of makeup I wear and this kept me from doing that.
What I didn’t like about this: Absolutely nothing. It was amazing and a keeper.
Just in time for spring, sandals and bare feet; we have the Baby Foot Exfoliant Foot Peel which is designed to remove dead skin off your tired feet. Yes, we’ve all tried some sort of at-home foot care product but this is different. This will exfoliate your feet by the dead skin peeling off. They use 17 types of natural extracts which exfoliate and moisturize and the principle ingredient is Baby Foot fruit acid.
It comes with one set of booties which have the product in them. You slip them on, keep on while sitting still for one hour and wash your feet off. At first it seems like nothing is happening but I promise you, within a few days your feet begin to peel! No need to help it along as it does this naturally and you are left with pretty, softer feet.
What I liked about this: It actually worked. I hadn’t had a pedicure in months and the harsh winter was cruel to my feet. I used this and within a few days my feet were considerably softer. Pretty great for foot skin care maintenance.
What I didn’t like about this: Incredibly messy to work with. The ties are not very helpful to keeping the booties on but they suggest wearing sock over them to keep them on and that is a great tip.
I am all about fighting father time and was lucky enough to receive the Smart Profile Uplift as a #giftfromclarisonic. I was not ready for this masterful new beauty device that is a 2-in-1 cleansing and micro-firming face massage. As I am working hard on removing a wrinkle between my eyebrows, I was the perfect candidate for this beauty tool that was designed to visibly improves 15 signs of aging on your face, neck, and décolleté within 12 weeks of use.
This 3-part system is for cleansing your face and neck with one brush, your entire body with the other brush and to firm your neck and face with the massage head. The unit is waterproof and smart! The Clarisonic’s smart microchip technology automatically adjusts to the optimal cleansing or firming frequency needed for each brush and massage head. It does all the work.
Here is a great video by Clarisonic showing you how to use it and the benefits. I watched it a few times and it helped me do the cleansing and massaging correctly.
What I liked about this: It forces me to spend more time on my skin care beauty. I’m notorious for slapping beauty products on or wiping off with no real thought. The body exfoliator was amazing on my elbows and knees and the massage head was relaxing. I’ve not used it long enough to see changes in my skin and that wrinkle but I really enjoy using it. I think this is a must have for every woman over 40. #smartprofileuplift
What I didn’t like about this: Nothing really. It’s relaxing and it is cleansing my skin expertly and after a few reads of the instructions I got the hang of it. It’s pricey but if you are serious about your beauty game, you will want this in your life as you get a cleanser for face and body and a skin firmer.
Say what you want but beauty skincare does not stop at your face. Beauty extends to your underarms, especially if you are trying to lighten them! I fell in LOVE with Dove’s dry spray when working on the #loveyourhair campaign and was unsure about using a spray deodorant. Dove’s advanced antiperspirant deodorants deliver 48-hour odor and wetness protection, with NutriumMoisture® and Dove ¼ moisturizers for softer, smoother underarms.
What I liked about this: It works! It does go on dry and it most certainly gives you 48 hours of protection. Judge me not but I sometimes marinate a couple of days and noticed I did not have any odor under 2 days (yes, I sniffed to be sure). I was pleasantly surprised as no deodorant has done that for me before. I love the scents and they last a long time.
What I didn’t like about this: The price was higher than regular deodorant but how long it lasted off-set that perfectly, so I advice you overlook that.
I happened to come across Elf Hydrating Face primer when my favorite face primer from SEPHORA COLLECTION – Perfecting Ultra-Smoothing Primer was out of stock. Working past devastation, I tried quite a few other primers before this one that were terrible! They either made my face white or didn’t smooth on very well. I checked several reviews too but nothing worked! While in Target one day I just picked this up, half expecting it not to work and I was pretty shocked.
The Elf Hydrating Face Primer boasts of being Infused with Grape and Vitamins A, C, & E for nourishing and anti-aging benefits. This multipurpose clear skin care primer reduces the appearance of fine lines and transforms your face into a flawless and smooth canvas so makeup goes on evenly for a long-lasting finish.
What I liked about this: Besides it working EXACTLY like my pricier favorite primer, it was much cheaper (below $6!) and glided on my face like a real skin care primer was supposed to. It also did not leave me looking white or make my face drier. I love the spout as it is exactly like my old one and allows me to use less.
What I didn’t like about this: Nothing. It worked like a charm. I was really surprised, but now I have a new staple primer. I definitely recommend trying these before going for a pricier brand.
Another #GiftedBySephora, the GlamGlow Volcasmic Matte Glow Moisturizer is a lightweight, creamy moisturizer with essential minerals to help absorb oil while hydrating skin, without adding shine. It’s actually made with Volcanic Minerals which are supposed to soak up oil so skin instantly looks supple. It’s designed to deliver optimal hydration if used in the morning will give flawless makeup application. I was pretty excited about trying this because I’ve been searching for a moisturizer that gave me hydration and softness without leaving my face feeling dried out nor greasy.
What I liked about this: It works well, feels great on and does not leave my face dry or greasy. I love the way it feels…soft and soothing. It goes a long way which is always a win for facial skin care.
What I don’t like about this: The price! ($54! for 1.7 oz.) You are definitely paying for those volcanic minerals but it does last long even though the jar seems small. Honestly, you don’t need a lot. I would love to make this my staple but if I struggle to find something else cheaper, I will break down and get it.
The last on the list but truly needs to be mentioned is Jason Smoothing Coconut Oil. Most of us have some form of coconut oil in our bathroom for skin and hair and I’ve tried quite a few brands before giving this one a try last fall. Colorado winters are cold but what’s even worse is how dry it can get! I can get away with body oil’s during all other seasons but during winter, I have to step it up with something heavier to keep my skin soft, hydrated and not ashy!
Jason Smoothing Coconut oil is virgin, organic coconut oil and while some would think all coconut oil brands are the same….they are not! I’ve used many kinds from super expensive to cheapy, cheapy and there are differences. Some brands are hard to get out of the jar, do not melt well and will leave clumps on your body and hair.
What I liked about this: It did what I needed it to do. It smoothed on well, never left clumps and was easy to get out of the jar. The price was awesome too! Cheaper than most other brands and I’ve tried some really expensive brands where I was very unimpressed. Works great on feet and hands for supple skin care and I love it!
What I didn’t like about this: Nothing. Absolutely my new staple brand of coconut oil to use for my skin and hair.
