Garlic Oil Is The Perfect Hair Loss Remedy. Yes, Really!

Garlic oil will nourish hair by stimulating the blood flow to your scalp. This encourages hair to grow rather that falling out or breaking off.

This is a first for me.  I know about so many other oils that are awesome for our hair like Olive oil, Grapeseed oil, Coconut oil, but GARLIC OIL???  Yea, I turned my nose up at the idea at first. I love garlic!  I cook just about everything using it and keep minced garlic in my fridge all the time.  I also take garlic pills and have taken them for years and waaayyy before I even had kids.  I take it to help with my cholesterol and I take more of it when I’m sick.  I’m a big fan of it but I am kinda shocked this is my first time hearing about it for hair and for being a great remedy for hair loss.

Is Your Hair Breaking or Shedding?

“Garlic is said to nourish hair by stimulating blood flow to your scalp, which encourages hair to grow rather that fall out or break off. Garlic is said to add body and shine to your hair, which can result in an appearance of a fuller hair of hair. Garlic will also help relieve dry hair and a dry or itchy scalp.”

Many are even touting Garlic is a quick remedy for hair shedding or hair breaking off.  Garlic oil contains allicin, a natural substance that can improve blood flow to the scalp, get rid of any bacteria or fungi living on the scalp and hair, and give life to damaged follicles. Garlic nourishes hair by stimulating blood flow to the scalp. You can use it directly on the scalp or by using hair products that contain garlic in them for hair shedding.

This is all really new to me and it must be pretty new to many Black women because as many horror stories I’ve heard from women having their precious locks falling out after bad perms or chemical disasters, why haven’t I heard of any of these remedies to help?  Who has been keeping this secret?

To make your own garlic additive for shampoo or conditioner, crush up a clove with a press or a mortar and pestle, then mix it with the amount of shampoo or conditioner you intend to use. Be sure to give your scalp a good massage as you work the product through your hair, then rinse.

That is not the only way to harness the goodness of garlic and wanted to share this informative video on another way to use it.

I know the DIYers out here are dying for a recipe using garlic oil so here’s a super popular video sharing a few recipes using garlic oil. They are using some pretty out of the box ingredients (one even uses brandy!) but worth giving a try.
