Sleep smart

You pull hair back when you work out but few of us do this when we sleep. According to Dr. Papantoniou, as we toss and turn in our sleep our hair and the product we use in it touches our faces, which can lead to breakouts. A low loosely tied ponytail ought to do the trick. “Also, be sure to change the pillow case weekly, oil from our hair gets on the pillow case and then onto our face,” she adds.

Eat avocados

Avocados are packed with skin protecting antioxidants such as vitamins C and E, beta-carotene that prevent wrinkles, plump skin and protect from the environment. Vitamin C helps to create collagen and elastin which gives skin that suppleness and firmness. The oleic acid found in avocados helps to regenerate damaged skin cells. You can add avocado to salad, make guacamole or even add it to a veggie juice.

*Not a fan of Avocado but a fan of what it can do for your skin! May have to start using Avocado oil more often.

Shrink pores, even out skin tone and brighten skin by cutting a tomato open and rubbing on your face. Tomatoes are of course great to eat so put them in a salad or eat them alone. They are high in lycopene, which protects skin from harmful sun rays.

Snack on sunflower seeds
