I've had issues with my knees last year so I'm NOT trying to cause an injury by jumping out there and doing sprints. I'm going to be taking it slow and figure a few of you might be on the same track. Not everybody is workout ready or already on a routine so here are some ways to get your body up and ready for the warmer weather and festivities.
Groom that body!
That means shaving, pedicures, manicures, waxing....the whole shabang. We can't be looking a hairy, rough mess as the weather warms and we wanna wear shorts (they are hot this year), skirts and sandals. Make that appointment or bust out the razor. It's so overdue and you know it!
It's time to do SOMETHING whether you start walking, taking up yoga, swimming or joining a gym. Exercise is always good but don't feel you have to limit yourself to what others are doing. Stay within your comfort zone until you feel ready to venture off but as long as you are moving then you are on the right track.
Get a trainer
Personal trainers are making a serious comeback in exercise for everyday folks. For one reason is the price and the perception. It used to be for the ultra rich to have a personal trainer but that's no longer perceived that way and the price has gone way down. The average price is $50 per hour with a range of $15 to $100 per hour. Not bad for once a week or more so ask a friend or check out a local gym to find a reputable one.
It's a great way to get your body ready internally as you make the change into a new season and new routine. We should be eating well anyway but if not and ready to embark on some new exercises then get your insides in shape as well. Here's an easy cleanse that doesn't have you fainting by lack of food by Health.com, A Cleanse That's Good for You but if you wanna go all out then try the Dr. Oz's 48-Hour Weekend Cleanse.
Do you meditate? You should because getting your body right on the inside and out won't be helping one bit if your mind and spirit aren't ready for the challenge. Not your thing or don't know how to start? Don't fret because here are 5 Meditation Tips For Beginnerss from Psychology Today.
