We all have secrets. Whether it’s about something deep and dark or just something small and silly. The bottom-line is we keep many things to ourselves. I’m a naturalista…a proud naturalista but I’ve got some secrets of my own.
I’m still learning. Yes, I’ve been natural for almost nine years (yes, nine) and I still don’t have all the answers. Now, granted for three of those years I was on a highway to self-destruction by not attempting to care for my tresses at all. Regardless, that leaves almost six years of nurturing and trying to be kind to my hair, so why am I still trying to figure this thing all out? Well, my hair changes as I age and experience stress, hormonal changes, bad practices, and life in general.
I let hubby pull my hair. No need to divulge more information than that, but sometimes it’s OK to have a little fun!
I chemically color my hair. Yea, sorry to all the extreme naturals who thought they were following a no heat, no chemical, and no bad ingredient natural. I wanted some color in my hair and didn’t want to use henna. I tried using all natural hair lightener but they didn’t work so I used Shea Moisture Color System. Their color system has no silicones, parabens, or sulphates but it still contains a chemical so I’m not a hard-core natural anymore.
