We are seeing more Natural hair gracing the red carpet within recent years and it was no exception at the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards yesterday in Beverly Hills. There was one clear winner of the best dressed last night and all eyes were on her! Lupita Nyong’o stole the red carpet wearing a dramatic but simple Ralph Lauren bright red column dress. The only thing to upstage her gorgeous dress was her hair.
Her hairstylist, Larry Sims, started the glam look by applying Smooth ‘N Shine Go Pro Curls Curl-Licious Mist to refresh and reactivate the actress’ natural curls.
Using a rattail comb, Sims made a dramatic, deep side part and then combed the star’s hair over to the right side.
To ensure the dramatic side part stayed in place throughout the long night, Sims sprayed got2b 2sexy Voluptuous Volume Hairspray on the actress’ hair. LATimes
Lupita was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 12 Years A Slave we are all looking forward to seeing more of her.
We cannot forget the diva of the red carpet, Kerry Washington! She was dazzling in a white custom Balenciaga by Alexander Wang gown. We also got to see her all glammed with her baby bump.
Kerry’s makeup was flawless from her smokey eyelids to her nude lips. Her hair was shiny and straight with some volume or bend. A great look all around and one might even say she was glowing. Kerry was nominated Best Actress for Scandal.
Zoe Saldana looked beautiful in a busy but interesting sleek black Prabal Gurung dress with off-the-shoulder pink straps. She certainly has the shoulders and legs for this dress and she paired the dress with bright red lips full of smiles.
With such a striking dress it was a great move to have her natural tresses slicked back into a elegant bun. Zoe was not up for any awards but did present one.
The natural hair theme for the 2014 Golden Globes was sleek, straight, striking looks from all three beautiful women. I wonder if we are seeing the first looks at the biggest natural hairstyles for 2014. Sleek, straight hair? Maybe…
Take care Naturals,
