Seriously Natural – A blog for us!

Sabrina – founder of Seriouslynatural.org

I
am a woman, mother, wife, fighter for the underdog along with being a
Natural hair enthusiast.  I’ve always loved politics and the desire
became deeper over this past presidential election.  All this sums up
Sabrina pretty good.

Natural hair is extremely
important to me.  I feel that finding out about this and becoming
Natural at the tender age of 35 is different than coming into this at
20.  I knew nothing, I didn’t know where to go and exploration doesn’t
normally occur in your mid to late 30’s.  I had to relearn who I was and
what I wanted while I had kids, a hubby and job.  It made it more
difficult so as I fumbled around I tried not to get discouraged when I
ONLY saw pics and blogs by YOUNGER women.

I
began this blog to celebrate and educate the older Natural who may have
been in the same boat as I.  Where were the pictures of us?  Where were
the bloggers who had to deal with our issues?  They weren’t really
there so I decided to become one of them.   There are so many more of us
around now but I enjoy discussing topics that pertain to us more so
than the younger crowd and I feel this is helping others just like me.

I’ve been blogging almost two
years now and I love it!  I’ve co-hosted Natural hair Meet-ups including
the International Natural one last May but I’m currently in school
working on my Masters so my time is limited for such events.  I’ve done
giveaways, product reviews, Older Natural Features and I plan on doing
this for as long as I find something to say and share.

In
2013 expect to see more on fashion, DIY, older Natural issues and of course….our Natural hair.  I am looking forward to bringing more of what we love to
all of you!

Take care Naturals,
Sabrina

You and I have something in common. We both went natural at age 35.
